This hands-on workshop offers a fascinating window into William Shakespeare's world in Warwickshire, allowing children to learn about the playwright from cradle to grave.
The session captures imaginations as children discover what life was like for William as a schoolboy, actor and playwright, and why he is as relevant today as he was 400 years ago.
Children will undertake a number of hands-on activities including:
- writing with a quill, creating parchment tags and making wax seals
- investigating plague remedies with the apothecary
- learning how to stage a dramatic sword fight
- having fun with William's wonderful words and staging a snippet performance using his original text
- becoming immersed in the world of Shakespeare's imagination and language
- playing with Shakespeare's rhyming couplets and iambic pentameter, whilst demystifying his language
- exploring a Tudor farmhouse and the historic site of Mary Arden's Farm
- walking in William's footsteps and discover more about his life and legacy.

Price: £13 per pupil. All staff go free.
A minimum charge equivalent to 20 pupils applies to all workshops.
One member of staff is required to accompany every eight children.
