Welcome To Shakespeare Week

The Shakespeare Mile

Stride out with Shakespeare this Shakespeare Week!

Will you stomp like Caliban the monster, flit like Titania or march like Macbeth going into battle? We're inviting children across the nation to dress like their favourite Shakespeare characters and walk a mile this Shakespeare Week!

'...a turn or two I'll walk, To still my beating mind.'

On Friday 25 March 2022 we're inviting children across the nation to dress as their favourite Shakespeare characters and walk their 'daily mile' in response to this famous quote from The Tempest. We'd love you to join in!

There are close links between our physical and emotional wellbeing, something that Shakespeare recognised in his writing over 400 years ago and something that we understand well today. We'd like to know what calms children's 'beating minds'. Does physical activity such as walking a daily mile help their emotional wellbeing and improve their ability to think clearly and focus? Share your Shakespeare Mile pictures and join in the conversation at #ShakespeareWeek. For more Shakespeare fun why not enter our competition on this theme?
