Shakespeare's Lost Seal

This resource, which alludes to the story of Shakespeare’s lost seal ring, explores the properties of materials. Before mass literacy, seals on documents confirmed the sender’s identity and kept the contents safe from prying eyes. A pattern cut into a hard stone was pressed into warmed sealing wax which cooled and solidified to create the seal. Suitable for Key Stage 1.
