Pancakes

This oldest known pancake recipe was written in 1588, even though pancake races originated at least a century earlier, when a woman, hearing the church bells ringing whilst making her pancakes, hurried to the church with her pan and pancakes in her hand!  You will need to make some to find out how good they taste!
