Will's Wonderful Words

The Big Shakespeare Poetry Performance

A lively 30-minute Poetry Performance event perfect to watch for your Shakespeare Week Assembly

12 Mar 2018

From Monday 12 March 2018 and throughout Shakespeare Week we will be broadcasting a fabulous poetry performance - Will's Wonderful Words. This engaging, educational and lively 30-minute performance hosted by Baroness Floella Benjamin was recorded especially for Shakespeare Week. The children of Mapledene Primary School share their own Shakespeare-inspired poetry alongside Poet and Broadcaster Ian McMillan, perform a Shakespeare rap with The Sonnet Man and laugh at a hilarious, exclusive sketch on Shakespearian pronunciation, 'The Queen's English' performed by actors Ben Crystal and Will Sutton.

The performance is perfect for all ages to enjoy, whether as a class, whole school or at home with your family. We hope that the event will inspire teachers, children and families to try writing some of their own Shakespeare-inspired poems. It's fun and easy to do with all the resources you need available for free to registered users in the Poetry category of our resources section on the website.

We wish you a very happy Shakespeare Week - and don't forget to tune in to see the performance during Shakespeare Week.
