Shakespeare Week Super Saturday

Join Horrible Histories illustrator Martin Brown, Ricky Martin from CBBC’s Art Ninja, and author and illustrator Marcia Williams and take part in fun-filled activities at Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon.

On Saturday 21 March, Shakespeare’s Birthplace will play host to a free family fun day. Enjoy live performances from our resident actors Shakespeare Aloud! and the Sonnet Man throughout the day. Come along and get creative! 

The Artists' Lab with children’s author and illustrator, Marcia Williams


Drop into the Artists' Lab from 10am-4pm and be inspired to become a maker! Create a collage with Marcia Williams and get arty with a range of make and take activities. (For all ages).

11am, 2pm and 3pm

Sharpen your Shakespeares and turn up your Tudors, Horrible Histories illustrator Martin Brown comes to Stratford with a fun filled, action packed show full of foul facts, deadly drawing and awful audience participation. A great event for all the whole family, expect some history that is horrible and some illustrating that everyone can do. (Recommended for ages 5-11 years).

10am, 1pm and 3pm

The isle is full of twangling sounds, paint and play; it feels scary at first, but you can learn to be confidently curious. Join a musical sensory telling of ‘The Tempest’ suitable for 0-7s, and fully inclusive for those with special needs. (Recommended for ages 0-7 years).

10am, 12pm & 2pm

Join the Art Ninja through the day for a spot of animation fun and see wht you can create with the 'Stop Motion' software. (Recommended for ages 7-11 years).

The Shakespeare Week Art School at Shakespeare's Family Homes - Included in admission price

The Shakespeare Week Art School is running all weekend across the Shakespeare’s family homes. Learn new art skills and create beautiful finished products to take home. All participants will receive a certificate and sticker and have the opportunity to dress up for a graduation selfie!
